03-10-2025 - Good Monday Morning! Mail service resumes, and that might be the day's high point! That highness might not happen if I get more bills than dollars falling out of envelopes. I'm sending a 1-inch site announcement ad to Bill's Opportunity Ads today. If you're an adsheet owner/publisher, I hope you'll post that info to the Dealer Ad Exchange! I'm still reviewing the loaded Small Potatoes Magazine I received a few days ago. My coffee is ready!
03-09-2025 - Not too long ago, I accidentally discovered that there is a minor league baseball team called the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Now comes the Trash Pandas! From Wikipedia: "The Rocket City Trash Pandas are a Minor League Baseball team of the Double-A South and the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They are in Madison, Alabama, and play their home games at Toyota Field." What other cool team names are out there?
03-09-2025 - It occurred to me that I'd never heard about a novel centered on the daily life of an Extra Income Mail Order Dealer. This novel is unknown to me because it doesn't exist. There you go, folks, an opportunity to break new ground! It could even be a suspense novel - Murder By Mail or Mail Order Mayhem - or some other dark topic. Or, it could be a happy story - like Merrily Making Millions - about the life of a Mail Order Dealer.
03-09-2025 - I ordered some vintage Mail Order adsheets on eBay a few days ago. Yesterday, I received an email saying my items were being packed. Packed? I don't want to hear about it being packed. I want the email that says my items have shipped!
03-09-2025 - Good Morning! It's Sunday, and, of course, there is no regular mail delivery. But does that matter? For the Dealer Ad Exchange, I encourage dealers to include an email address in their ads so that inquiries can be made and business transacted, no matter what day or time of day it happens to be. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!
03-08-2025 - My postal mail was late today due to the rain. However, I received a checking copy of Small Potatoes Magazine and an acknowledgment from the Independent Business Marketer, published by Freerksen Publications, for the site announcement ads I submitted. Small Potatoes Magazine has a new format. It is now 8½ x 11½ sheets, stapled together. I don't know if this is a permanent or temporary look. SPM was a smaller, newsprint, perfect-bound booklet. It doesn't matter - information is information. I'll take it in any form.
03-08-2025 - Today, I received five ads for the upcoming Dealer Ad Exchange from Mail Dealer S. Lee Horwitz. They're interesting, and I know you'll want to see them. So, stay tuned! In the meantime, send in your free DAX ads!
03-08-2025 - Summer in Texas is not here yet, but it won't be long before the mail carrier delivers sweat-soaked letters and magazines. Do they stick mail under their arms while they search for other mail? I do not know.
03-08-2025 - I mailed 45 site announcement postcards this morning. That's about all the marketing I'm going to do today.
03-08-2025 - Repost - We need more 100-circulation adsheets. That's right, just 100 copies mailed. There's no pressure to send it to a higher circulation. Who can't mail 100 copies? It's a believable figure. How about a 100-circulation adsheet that features only websites? How about one that features only websites owned by the submitting dealer instead of affiliate links? If you know of any low-circulation, direct mail adsheets, email me.

03-08-2025 - Good Morning! It's 5:30 AM and my area is getting some much-needed rain this morning. I'll probably have to start mowing the lawn in a few weeks, but that's okay because I need the exercise. I continue to tweak the Dealer Ad Exchange terms and conditions. No one has submitted any ads yet, so this is not a problem. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!
03-07-2025 - In response to the current administration's plan to move the USPS under the Commerce Department and talk of privatizing it, members of the American Postal Workers Union plan to hit the streets on March 20 with a "Hands Off Our Public Postal Service!" message.
03-07-2025 - From the U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics - Employment Situation Summary - Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 151,000 in February, and the unemployment rate changed little at 4.1 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment trended up in health care, financial activities, transportation and warehousing, and social assistance. Federal government employment declined. This news release presents statistics from two monthly surveys. The household survey measures labor force status, including unemployment, by demographic characteristics. The establishment survey measures nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings by industry.
03-06-2025 - In the mail today was an acknowledgment for my Independent Direct Mail Association renewal, an offer to help a lawyer collect "millions" from government slush funds, The Divine Giving Gift Club, an offer for a report on how to select the right money-making program, and an offer to reveal how to get paid for writing "simple" two-sentence letters.
03-06-2025 - The U.S. Postal Service reports that more new stamps are coming this year. There will be Forever Stamps for the U.S. Army 250th anniversary, the U.S. Marine Corps 250th anniversary, and the U.S. Navy 250th anniversary. There will also be two stamps that "highlight the special role of Boston in the American Revolution," a stamp to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War, and lastly, there will be a William F. Buckley, Jr. stamp.
03-06-2025 - From the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics - Economics Daily - There were 31 major work stoppages that began in 2024 and the same number in effect during the year. There were no work stoppages that began in 2023 and carried over from 2023 into 2024. Between 1993 and 2024, there were 694 total work stoppages with 53 of those stoppages involving 25,000 or more workers. Over these years, just 7.6 percent of stoppages involved at least 25,000 workers. In 2024 alone, 16.1 percent of the stoppages beginning in the year involved more than 25,000 workers with 5 of the 31 stoppages meeting this threshold.
03-06-2025 - Good Morning! I'm a few miles (130) from home, in a hotel room, getting ready for an appointment with an ophthalmologist. We have several ophthalmologists in my city, but none can do the surgical procedure I might need. Maybe I won't need it. I'll know pretty soon. Dallas rush-hour traffic isn't for the weak. I don't mind it only because I don't have to endure it twice a day as many do. On the way back home, I might reward myself with an In-N-Out burger across from the Texas Motor Speedway. That's something else we don't have back home. My hotel room coffee is ready!
03-05-2025 - Good Morning! Do you have a new product or service for Mail Order Dealers that includes a commission dealership? Have you considered jump-starting that new offer by giving away a few dealerships to interested dealers? They can start making sales for you right away. Who cares if they didn't buy whatever it is? Many affiliate marketers don't buy whatever it is they're promoting. Did that Cadillac salesperson buy a Cadillac before you purchased one from them? It's just an idea. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!

03-04-2025 - I would love to have a Bloomberg Terminal, except (1.) I don't want to pay $24,000 for the terminal and service, and (2.) I wouldn't know what to do with it if I had one! They look nice, though, with all that data on the screens! Photo by Travis Wise—Creative Commons—Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0). The photo has been cropped to show mainly the screens.
